Before you choose
Choosing garden furniture for a Northumberland outdoor space
Plan around your actual shelter
A sheltered courtyard and an open Northumberland garden can need different arrangements. Choose a stable position and think about the prevailing exposure at that spot. Follow the guidance for each item and plan dry storage for cushions; heavy furniture alone does not make accessories safe in strong winds.
Describe the approach to your property
If your address has a narrow lane, a long drive, steps or restricted unloading, discuss those details with Ottena before ordering. Check whether the selected furniture arrives on a pallet and where delivery ends. Plan how larger pieces will reach the garden.
For care and finish advice, read our teak furniture care guide. For the full product ranges, use our patio sets, garden benches and garden chairs collections.

Our ranges of garden furniture are manufactured to ensure they withstand whatever the weather in Northumberland can throw at it. We are very proud of our garden furniture and confident you will be too, ensuring we supply a heavy duty and hard-wearing product is something we ensure we do.
Northumberland is a stunningly beautiful area of the country known for its architecture and beautiful landscapes. Having those special pieces of garden furniture in your outdoor area will allow you to sit back and take in some of the natural beauty of Northumberland. Capability Brown the landscape gardener was born in Northumberland so being able to enjoy some of your beautiful gardens is key, our ranges of garden furniture will hopefully allow you to do this.
Sustainably sourced teak garden furniture
Our teak garden furniture is manufactured in Indonesia, using sustainably sourced Teak and supported by replanting schemes. Using timber that will last means you won't have to buy 'fast' furniture and replace it every year.
Solid teak and traditional joinery
When it comes to manufacturing our fantastic garden furniture, it is made from sustainably sourced eco-teak. The sustainability of our teak is very important to us and we only use teak that has been sourced from plantations that are sustainable. To ensure this is the case a SVLK certification scheme is in place to ensure there is no foul play. The teak must have this certification or our manufacturer will not be able to use it to produce our furniture.
Our manufacturer mainly constructs our furniture from timber and will try to keep the unnecessary use of other metals and plastics to a minimum. However inevitably this is unavoidable but using traditional joinery methods helps to keep the usage to as much a minimum as possible.
Timber sourcing and our environmental commitments
Looking after our planet and environment is something we take very seriously and we want to be sure we make an eco-promise to you. Our timber used only comes from plantations that are classed as sustainable and is closely controlled to ensure this is the case.
We aslo look closely at the ways we package and transport our garden furniture. Our furniture is packaged into cardboard which is easily recycled and then packaged in bubble wrap to transport to you. This bubble wrap is partly manufactured from recycled plastics and is also 100% recyclable once not neede anymore.
Another great scheme we are really proud to give you is our tree planting scheme. What this means is that for every order placed with us at Ottena we will plant a tree. A fantastic scheme to help protect and conserve for future generations to come.
