Before you choose
Choosing garden furniture for a Camden courtyard
Keep a route through the space
A courtyard may also be the route to bikes, storage or a rear gate. Mark that route before adding a table and chairs. Check it still works when the chairs are occupied, rather than only when they are pushed beneath the table.
Check storage before choosing folding furniture
Folding chairs can be useful where the space changes purpose during the week. Compare folded dimensions and make sure the storage place is easy to reach. Check the actual listing for the folding mechanism and included pieces.
Measure access through the building
If the route into a Camden garden passes through the home, measure the narrowest doorway and turns. Ask about packaged sizes and assembly. Confirm the unloading point and arrange any help needed beyond the delivery service.
For care and finish advice, read our teak furniture care guide. For the full product ranges, use our patio sets, garden benches and garden chairs collections.

Sustainably sourced teak garden furniture
Our teak garden furniture is manufactured in Indonesia, using sustainably sourced Teak and supported by replanting schemes. Using timber that will last means you won't have to buy 'fast' furniture and replace it every year.
Solid teak and traditional joinery
We always ensure we are constructing our furniture from the best materials possible and ensure that the timber we use has only ever come from sustainable sources. Our teak is sourced by our manufacturer from Javanese plantations that are strictly maintained and controlled to ensure they are sustainable. A SVLK certification scheme is in place to make sure this is the case, without this certification the teak cannot be used, it ensures the legitimacy of our teak and stops any foul play.
Our manufacturer has been constructing our teak furniture all of thier lives, hand crafting and hand finishing our products using traditional joinery methods to give both strong and sturdy items whilst still maintaining the natural beauty of the teak. We keep the use of other metals and plastics to an absolute minimum where possible.
Timber sourcing and our environmental commitments
At Ottena having an eco-promise in place is very important to us. To help protect and maintain our fragile planet and environment is something we always make sure we are doing everything we can. We omly ever use sustainably sourced timber in the construction of our garden furniture.
When packaging your orders we use cardboard and bubble wrap to protect whilst in transit. These are both fully recyclable once not needed anymore, taking this to your local recycling facility is all we would ask you to do.
We have recently introduced a tree planting scheme, this is fantastic and for every order placed with us we will on your behalf plant a tree. A great initiative to help maintain and protect our forests and plantations for the future.
