The teak we use comes from Javanese plantations that are strictly controlled and monitored to ensure they remain sustainable. A strict certification scheme known as SVLK is in place to certify the legitimacy of the teak and to make sure there is no foul play taking place. To further help we have recently introduced a tree planting scheme that will plant a tree for every purchase you make with us here at Ottena.

Our manufacturers have been expertly crafting and building our furniture all of their lives and we have worked closely with them since starting our business to ensure we deliver you the best quality products. We use mainly timber products and limit the use of metals and plastics in our furniture but this is sometimes unavoidable btu we ensure this is kept to a minimum level as possible.

Being more eco and ensuring we are doing what we can to help protect our fragile environment and planet for future generations is on everyones mind at present. At Ottena we are always looking at ways how we can improve our business and processes to still deliver the best product whilst being as eco-friendly as is physically possible. The timber that we use is only sourced from forests and plantations that are sustainably controlled. The teak we use is subject to a strict certification scheme known as SVLK, this certifies the legitimacy of the teak we us to ensure its sustainability and also ensures there is no foul play taking place.

Another area we are continuing to look at is how we send and package our orders to you. We have recnetly changed couriers to improve our service and now use for larger items and orders a pallet service that helps us reduce the amount of packaging used. For the other orders we use cardboard and bubble wrap, we appreciate this is a plastic but it provides the best level of protection for your furniture and is also 100% recyclable once not needed anymore.

A recent scheme we have also introduced is a tree planting scheme. This is a fantastic scheme that will, on your behalf, plant a tree for every order place with us at Ottena. I am sure you will agree this is a great initiative.

In the event that some of our teak outside furniture becomes damaged in transit, either on its way to us or to our customers, we will bring it back to our warehouse and recycle it. Our team are now experienced in making appropriate repairs to teak folding tables, teak dining chairs, teak garden benches and our garden parasols. These are often restored to perfect working order so they will have a long working life.
