Before you choose
Choosing garden furniture for a Glasgow home
A dining spot that still leaves room to move
A table can fit on a patio and still leave too little space to use it comfortably. Mark out the table and chairs with people seated, then check the route from the back door. If the garden also holds bikes, bins or a washing line, include those everyday uses in the plan.
Check the route, not just the garden gate
For a Glasgow address with shared access or a route through the house, measure the narrowest doorway and any turn. Compare those measurements with the packaged dimensions. Ask about assembly and unloading before ordering a larger set.
Choose the chairs as carefully as the table
An upright dining chair and a low relaxing chair suit different uses. Check seat height, arm height and whether the chair fits beneath your chosen table. If you are comparing sets, send Ottena the product names and patio measurements for help narrowing the choice.
For care and finish advice, read our teak furniture care guide. For the full product ranges, use our patio sets, garden benches and garden chairs collections.

We all know how inclement the weather can be and also how important it is to you to have products that are built to take this punishment. Rest assured we have designed our furniture with this in mind. Our manufacturer uses traditional joinery methods to construct and build our furniture giving it both strength and rigidity and also still looking beautiful placed in your garden or outside your cafe or pub. Teak is such a fantastic material. Sourced from sustainably controlled Javanese plantations our manufacturer uses this wood to build our fantastic teak garden benches and teak patio sets. With its naturally high oil content it has an inbuilt protection that will help to make your furniture almost maintenance free and very user friendly. Left to weather in the sunshine teak will fade to a wonderful silver/grey patina that we all know and love.

Sustainably sourced teak garden furniture
Our teak garden furniture is manufactured in Indonesia, using sustainably sourced Teak and supported by replanting schemes. Using timber that will last means you won't have to buy 'fast' furniture and replace it every year.
Solid teak and traditional joinery
We construct our ranges of teak garden furniture only from sustainably sourced eco-teak. This means that the timber we use is only ever sourced from Javanese plantations that are strictly governed to ensure their sustainability. A SVLK certification scheme is in operation to ensure the legitimacy of the teak and ensure no foul play takes place. Without this certification the teak cannot be used.
Our manufacturer takes huge amounts of pride in the products they produce and we are very proud to offer them to you. Built using traditional joinery methods gives you not only a strong and well built item of teak garden furniture but something that will look stunning located in your private garden or your commercial setting. We try to keep the use of metals and plastics to a minimum in the construction of our furniture by using traditional joinery methods but this is unavoidable at times.
Timber sourcing and our environmental commitments
Doing everything in our powers to help protect and conserve our environment and planet for the future is something we all need to take seriously and to be sure we are doing our bit to help. At Ottena we want to assure you that we are doing everything we can to help for future generations. The teak we use is only ever sourced from sustainable Javanese plantations which are strictly controlled.
The packaging we use consists of cardboard and bubble wrap to protect your garden furniture whilst it is on route to you. We appreciate bubble wrap is a plastic but the bubble wrap we use is partly made from recycled material and is fully recyclable once you don't need it anymore.
A fantastic scheme that we are very proud of is our tree planting scheme. This will on your behalf plant a tree for every order placed with us here at Ottena. I'm sure you will agree this is a great scheme and we are very proud to be part of this great scheme that will help to maintain and grow our forests and plantations for future generations.
