A certifiaction scheme is in place to ensure this, the SVLK certification ensures the legitimacy of the teak that is being used and stops any foul play taking place.

Our manufacturer has been supplying us with our fantastic teak furniture since we started our business back in 2015. Staying with the same manufacturer has allowed us to fine tune the designs and finishes of our garden benches, chairs and patio sets to give stunning products. They are mainly constructed using traditional joinery methods and we try to limit the use of other metals and plastics in its construction. Where we do we keep this to an absolute minimum.

It is becoming more and more important to ensure we are doing everything we possibly can to help protect our fragile planet and environment. We are always looking at ways we can improve our business and have made sure we are doing what we can to help. We only ever use timber that has been sourced from sustainable sources, these forests and plantations are strictly controlled and monitored to ensure this always is the case. To further help we have recently introduced a tree planting scheme to our business. This scheme will, on your behalf, plant a tree for every order placed with us here at Ottena. A great way of giving a little back whilst shopping with us.

We have also worked hard on reducing the amount of packaging we use and to ensure the packaging we do use is recyclable. For larger orders and items we now send these on a pallet delivery service to help reduce the amount of packaging used. For our other orders these are wrapped in cardboard and bubble wrap which is fully recyclable once not needed anymore.

In the event that some of our teak outside furniture becomes damaged in transit, either on its way to us or to our customers, we will bring it back to our warehouse and recycle it. Our team are now experienced in making appropriate repairs to teak folding tables, teak dining chairs, teak garden benches and our garden parasols. These are often restored to perfect working order so they will have a long working life.
