The Material
Teak garden furniture: material and care
Solid teak is the number one choice for outdoor furniture because of its naturally high oil content, which gives it exceptional protection from the elements. Maintenance free, beautiful to look at, and built to last for decades in Cornwall's gardens and outdoor spaces.
Longevity
Outlasts everything
Teak's natural oils repel moisture, resist warping and shrug off frost without complaint. Leave it out all year round. Cornwall's weather cannot touch it.
Low Maintenance
Leave it outside
Oil once a year to keep the honey colour, or let it silver gracefully. No painting, no treating, no hauling it into a shed. See our teak care guide for details.
Versatility
Home and trade
From private Cornwall gardens to restaurant terraces and commercial venues , teak handles real daily use and gets more handsome for it over the years. Browse our garden chairs and benches.
Our Eco Promise
Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do.
Eco-sourced materials. Traditional joinery. Built to last rather than be replaced.
We always recommend our teak Adirondack chairs and garden furniture for this as it is proven over time to be the most hard-wearing and long lasting, especially in the salty winds! Practical buying guidance
Choosing Garden Furniture for Exposed Cornish Gardens
A sheltered courtyard and an exposed coastal terrace need different planning. Check the stability of your chosen furniture, avoid relying on furniture weight alone in strong winds, and follow the parasol manufacturer’s wind guidance. Bring cushions into suitable dry storage when they are not in use.
For long-term appearance and upkeep, follow our teak furniture care guide. Check the assembly guidance before your furniture arrives.
Garden Furniture Cornwall: Buying and Delivery FAQs
Do you deliver garden furniture to Cornwall?
Yes. Ottena supplies solid teak garden furniture to Cornwall. Check the delivery information for your chosen product and postcode, and contact us before ordering if access is restricted or you need a specific date.
What should I consider for a coastal garden in Cornwall?
Consider the exposure of the actual site, the stability of each piece and storage for cushions. Teak is used for outdoor furniture, but that does not make any chair, table or parasol immune to severe weather. Ask us about the intended position before ordering if you are unsure.
What should I check before placing my order?
Confirm the full dimensions, seating quantity, included cushions or accessories and any assembly requirements on the product page. Check the current price and availability rather than assuming every combination has the same contents.
How do I confirm delivery arrangements for Cornwall?
Read the current delivery terms for your chosen product and destination. If you need a particular date or have restricted access, contact us with your postcode and access details before ordering. Read delivery information.
What if the furniture is not right for my space?
Measure before ordering and contact us if you need help comparing sizes. Read the current returns policy, including any applicable conditions and charges, before purchase. Read the returns policy.
Will teak furniture change colour outdoors?
Untreated teak gradually develops a silvery-grey appearance. Follow the care guidance for cleaning and any treatment if you prefer a warmer colour. Check cushion care separately from timber care.
