Here at Ottena we are always looking at different products and services that we can offer our fantastic customers, to give them the best possible selection and service when shopping for a new piece of teak garden furniture or wooden garden parasol. We are pleased to announce we now offer a wood engraving service for our selection of our teak garden benches. This will allow our customers to personalise their teak bench, adorning it with a special message for everyone to see.
We have invested in a state of the art laser engraving machine that will engrave your personalised message into the surface of the wood, to leave a lasting message. We have decided to step away from the traditional engraving systems to go with a laser engraver that gives a beautiful finish that will contrast with the lighter golden colour of our teak garden benches.
Our wood engraving service allows you to add a special message directly into one of our teak benches. You can then place your bespoke teak bench in a special place in your garden or elsewhere, as a loving memorial to a much missed loved one or as a fitting tribute to a special occasion. In choosing a laser engraver, we can design the text for engraving on a computer allowing us to provide a totally bespoke engraving service. We can also engrave objects of all shapes and sizes into your teak park bench, as well as text. Only today we have had a request from a customer to have a message and a picture of a swallow engraved into the top rail of one of our four seater teak benches. We are busy finalising the design so that we can get the engraving absolutely perfect and the memorial bench whisked off to our customer in good time.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer the wood engraving service on all of our teak garden benches. Our Lutyens is the only teak bench we cannot engrave on, due to the shape and construction of the backrest of this particular bench. We are working on a solution to rectify this and will update you all as soon as we can.
Unlike other retailers that charge per word or letter, we have done it slightly differently. Our pricing is based on the space across the top rail of the solid teak bench. Our standard width of text will be up to 60cm, priced at £100. We offer a wider option of up to 90cm of engraving charged at £165 if required. We can just about engrave most things into your bench but please be aware that depending on the size and style of bench you decide to go for, there might be limitations on what can be fitted within your chosen area. Large amounts of text can become small and not the easiest to read so try to think carefully about the message you require.

Under normal circumstances we will use Times New Roman font as can be seen in the attached pictures. If again you require something a little different or a specific font then we will be only too pleased to personalise the design for you.
As it takes a little time to approve designs and engrave your bench, please be aware that delivery of teak memorial benches with engraving, whether assembled or not, will take longer than our standard delivery promise. This service can take 7 – 10 working days to complete the process of design, engraving and delivery.
