A dining table for four works harder than almost any other piece of furniture in the home. It’s where the day starts with coffee and toast, where homework gets spread out after school, and where friends end up lingering long after the plates have been cleared. For most households, four seats is the sweet spot: enough for family meals and small dinner parties without taking over the room.
Our 4 seater dining sets are all part of our Lifetime Teak range, made from reclaimed, hand-selected solid teak. In this post we’ll take a closer look at what goes into them, how the three table styles differ, and how to choose the right one for your space.
Why Reclaimed Teak?
Teak has been prized by furniture makers for centuries, and for good reason. It’s dense, stable and naturally rich in oils, which makes it far less prone to warping or cracking than many other hardwoods. That’s why it’s the timber we’ve built our reputation on for garden furniture, and it’s just as rewarding indoors.
Reclaimed teak takes those qualities a step further. This is timber that has already lived a life, so it carries depth in the grain, subtle tonal shifts and small marks of character that new wood simply can’t replicate. No two tables are exactly alike.
There’s an environmental case too. Reclaiming high-quality timber keeps excellent wood in use for longer and reduces waste, rather than felling new trees to meet demand. If sustainability matters to you, you can read more about our approach on our Eco and Sustainable Promises page.
Built to Be Used, Not Just Admired
Every set in the range is made using traditional joinery and generous timber sections. The result is furniture that feels solid and steady from the moment you sit down. There’s no wobble when someone leans on the table to reach the salt, and no worry about a busy household giving it a daily workout.
The proportions are deliberately generous. Each seat has room to breathe, so four people can eat comfortably without bumping elbows, while the overall footprint stays sensible for kitchens, dining rooms and open-plan living spaces.
Our 4 Seater Dining Set Variations
Every set in the range is built from the same reclaimed solid teak, but there are four table designs, two chair styles and a choice of cushions to pick from. Here’s how they fit together at a glance.

Lamorna 1m Square
The Lamorna is our most compact table, seating one person on each side so everyone is the same distance apart. It’s ideal for cosy kitchens, breakfast corners, flats and smaller dining rooms where floor space is precious. With every chair and cushion combination available, it’s also the most flexible set in the range.

Treen 1.2m Round
With no corners, the Treen is relaxed, sociable and easy to move around. Everyone can see and chat to everyone else, which makes it a natural choice for family meals and small dinner parties. It works especially well in square rooms, bay windows and open-plan spaces where the table needs to look good from every angle, and its slightly larger footprint gives four people plenty of room.

Rinsey 1.8m
The Rinsey is our statement table. At 1.8m long it gives four people real elbow room, with space left over for sharing platters and table decorations, plus the option to add an extra chair when guests arrive. It suits larger dining rooms and anyone who loves to entertain.

Rinsey with Bench
Swapping two chairs for a matching bench gives the Rinsey a relaxed farmhouse feel. Benches are brilliant for families with young children, who can shuffle along to make room, and they tuck neatly under the table when not in use. The 2.2m version is a great fit for large kitchens and open-plan spaces where you want flexible seating for extra guests.

Round Back or Wicker?
Round back chairs are made entirely from solid teak, with a gently curved backrest that supports you through long, lingering meals. Their classic look sits comfortably in both traditional and contemporary homes, and suits anyone who wants the full character of the timber on show.
Wicker chairs pair a teak frame with a woven seat and back, adding texture and a lighter, more relaxed feel. They soften the look of a solid timber table and work particularly well in coastal, country and Scandi-inspired interiors.
Choosing Your Cushions
Most of our sets are available with seat cushions in cream or grey, as well as without cushions for a pared-back look.
- Cream brings warmth and brightness, and pairs beautifully with the honeyed tones of reclaimed teak. It’s a lovely choice for light, airy rooms and country-style kitchens.
- Grey feels calmer and more understated, and suits cooler colour schemes and more modern interiors.
- No cushions lets the grain and character of the teak take centre stage, and is the practical option for busy family kitchens.
How Much Space Do You Need?
A good rule of thumb is to allow around 90cm between the edge of the table and the nearest wall or piece of furniture. That gives enough room to pull a chair out and sit down comfortably, and for others to walk behind.
As a rough guide:
- Tighter spaces and kitchen nooks suit the 1m square Lamorna.
- Everyday dining rooms and open-plan areas suit the 1.2m Treen, in whichever shape best fits the room.
- Larger dining rooms and keen hosts will get the most from the 1.8m Rinsey.

Caring for Your Reclaimed Teak
Indoors, teak is wonderfully low maintenance. A wipe with a soft, damp cloth is usually all it needs day to day. Use coasters and placemats for hot dishes and drinks, and keep the table out of direct heat from radiators or log burners where possible. For more detailed advice, see our care and maintenance guide.
