At Ottena we are always looking to help improve our environmental impact and ensure that everything that we do is as good for our planet and environment that we can possibly make it. The teak used in the manufacturing of our teak garden furniture only ever comes from sustainably controlled plantations in Indonesia. Without the correct certification to prove its sustainability, this teak cannot be exported out of Indonesia. Our teak garden chairs, teak table and chair sets and more come wrapped mainly in cardboard that can be easily recycled at your nearest recycling facility. Even the bubble wrap we use is made partly from recycled materials and is also recyclable, at larger supermarkets for example, where they take all of your carrier bags and other plastic bag packaging.
But something we are very proud of is our participation in a tree planting scheme that is run by Tree Nation. Fantastically, today actually marks our two year anniversary of being part of this global scheme to help replant trees of all species all across the globe. Attached to this blog is a photo of the very first tree that we have paid to have planted under the Tree Nation scheme. Every day we continue to donate to this great cause, all thanks to you as our fantastic customers.
So, how does it work? Well, for every order that we receive from our loyal customers we will pay to have a tree planted on your behalf. This will help in a small way to help rebuild those forests and plantations back up for generations to come to love and enjoy. This scheme has been a great addition to our business and we are so proud to be able to give a little back.

They help with reforestation and conservation projects all over the world to help to restore forests, create jobs, support local communities and protect biodiversity.
