It is always so nice when we hear back from our customers about how extremely happy and pleased they are with their order. We are all very quick to complain these days and unfortunately it is all too easy for the reputation of a small family run business to be affected by negative online reviews. But, when positive feedback is received, it does provide a boost in moral and job satisfaction.
After receiving contact from a customer with regards to a memorial bench for a special location, it also transpired that they would like to have a special message engraved into the backrest in memory of a much missed loved one. Whilst we offer a range of brass and stainless steel memorial plaques, we have also recently invested in a laser engraving machine that will allow us to offer an engraving service onto a range of our solid teak garden benches. This machine will allow us to not only engrave text but also outline images that can really give a personal touch to a chosen remembrance bench. We can literally engrave any shape, design or outline! This laser engraver will also allow us to start producing our brass and stainless steel plaques in house allowing us to not be dependant on an external engraver for these products.
Unlike other garden furniture outlets, we charge slightly differently for our bench engraving. Where most will charge per word or letter, we do it slightly differently in charging for an area where your text or images can be engraved. The area of engraving can sometimes be governed by the chosen teak garden bench due to the differing sizes of the top rail of each bench, but we will always work with you to make the most of the workable area we have for your engraving. With the engraver being computer controlled, it makes it easier to tweak and adjust designs to fit into a certain area. The only thing we would say is be considerate about the amount of text required as high amounts of text could possibly look a little crowded once engraved on to a bench. Our customer had requested a small amount of text in memory of a loved one and had also asked for a pair of swallows on the outside of the engraved text. So, we went to work and found a couple of suitable swallow outlines which were added to the design. The finished template was sent to our customer for approval and any final tweaks were made. The chosen bench from our range of solid teak garden benches was our stunning 6ft Victoria bench. This bench, in our opinion, really suits a memorial bench with its large sculpted top rail on the backrest giving it a simply beautiful finish and look.
The engraving was completed by one of our colleagues and as we would recommend, to save any damage to the engraving whilst in the hands of the courier, the bench was then assembled ready to be dispatched to our customer. We would always recommend that any engraved bench is assembled before dispatch as this will ensure the engraving is not affected in any way when the bench is delivered in its unassembled state.
As you can see from the photos we have taken before dispatch, the bench looks amazing! The engraving gives that unique personal touch and the bench provides a comfortable and quiet place to sit and relax whilst remembering that loved one.
A couple of weeks after our customer received their bench, we had an email with a couple of photos of the bench situated in a wooded area next to a small pond. It is so nice to see our teak furniture in its rightful place, making people happy and giving many years of enjoyment. It is always so nice to hear kind words from one of our customers and we welcome any of our customers to share their experiences with us.
