A little break from the traditional what I would call “park bench” design and style, the backless benches are a simple and sleek design but still giving you somewhere to sit and enjoy your surroundings. Over the past 10 years since we started Ottena, we have always worked very closely with the same manufacturer of teak furniture to ensure we can provide you with the best possible product. Working closely with them and building a great relationship over the years has allowed us to modify designs to help improve our products from feedback given from existing customers.
One such example can be our backless benches. Like most of our solid teak garden furniture there is the need for some light assembly once your items arrive with you. This assembly is kept to a minimum and is as simple as it can be but sometimes, we find that a particular design can be a little more awkward than others. With our backless benches and some of our other fixed tables, the legs used to be attached with wooden dowels on mortice and tenon joints. This design was ok but some customers found it to be a little awkward. So, working with our manufacturer we changed this to a simple bolt system that means all you need to do is find the correct leg and using the provided bolts simply screw the leg into place. What could be easier! We have used brass allen key bolts since this change and recently we have now made the change to stainless steel to again improve on an already great product.
The backless benches, like all of our solid teak garden benches, are available in three different sizes. A two seater bench, a three seater and four seater version are available, depending on the space you have. The bench will work fantastically well up against a sunny wall in your garden, giving you somewhere to rest and relax. Alternatively, these can make a great dining bench alongside one of our larger pedestal tables. The solid teak legs are strong and sturdy. The seat base has a very slight curve from front to back to give even more comfort. A simple yet effective design which can be complimented by one of our small coffee tables to give you somewhere to rest that well earned cup of tea! Don’t forget, if you want to go for the best possible level of comfort we also have a range of cushions available. These have been tailormade to fit each of our garden benches perfectly. Finished with a machine washable showerproof cover, our cushions are available in three different colours: cream, dark green or navy blue. A great addition to any outside seat.
