Teak is such a fantastic material, if I do say so myself!! With many fantastic naturally occuring properties that make it the number 1 choice for outdoor garden furniture. Having a naturally high oil content is probably the best as it allows the wood to go almost maintenance free outdoors from year to year making it a great addition to your outdoor living.

Before you choose
Planning furniture for a Perth and Kinross garden
Choose the position before the furniture
Look at the usable, level space and the route from the house. A larger garden does not always need a larger table. Choose around the seats you use regularly and leave room to carry food, pull out chairs and move past the arrangement.
Check access for larger pieces
For a property with a restricted approach, send the postcode and access details before ordering. Confirm packaged sizes, assembly requirements and the unloading point. If the garden is some distance from that point, plan how the pieces will be moved safely.
For care and finish advice, read our teak furniture care guide. For the full product ranges, use our patio sets, garden benches and garden chairs collections.

Sustainably sourced teak garden furniture
Our teak garden furniture is manufactured in Indonesia, using sustainably sourced Teak and supported by replanting schemes. Using timber that will last means you won't have to buy 'fast' furniture and replace it every year.
How our teak garden furniture is made
It is important to us to use the best quality materials in our furniture so we deliver fantastic garden furniture in Perth and Kinross. We only ever use sustainably sourced eco-teak in the production of our teak garden furniture. Our teak comes from Javanese plantations that are strictly controlled and governed to ensure the legitimacy of the teak. The SVLK certification scheme is in place to ensure this happens and no foul play takes place. All of the teak we use must have this certification before it is used to ensure the sustainability of the timber being used.
Our highly skilled craftsman manufacture our products for us and have been for all of their lives. They use mainly traditional joinery methods to give a strong and sturdy product which is not only stunning to look at but will stand the test of time. Using as little metals and plastics as possible in its construction but where this is needed they keep the amounts to an absolute minimum.
Sustainable timber and tree planting
Making sure we are all doing our little bit to help protect and look after our fragile climate and planet is something we should all take very seriously. At Ottena we try very hard to do everything we can to be as environmentally conscious as we can. The timber only comes from sustainable forests and plantations. Our manufacturer will then construct with mainly traditional methods to help reduce the need for unnecessary plastics and metals in its construction.
We package our orders with cardboard and bubble wrap to protect whilst in transit. The bubble wrap we use is fully recyclable as is the cardboard, we just ask you to dispose of it to the relevant recycling facilities.
We also have a tree planting scheme in place which we are very proud of. This scheme will plant a tree for every order placed with us at Ottena on your behalf. I'm sure you will agree, a fantastic scheme.
