How we build
At Ottena we have always ensured we are using the best possible materials to produce our fantastic garden furniture. When it comes to outdoor garden furniture you want to be sure you are getting a product that not only looks stunning but is also built to take whatever the unpredictable UK weather can throw at it. Our manufacturer uses mainly traditional joinery methods to build our teak furniture and limits the use of other metals and plastics in its construction. Where they are used we make sure this is kept to an absolute minimum level. Our parasols are built around a wooden frame with a showerproof fabric to give that added bit of protection from the elements.
The timber we use only ever comes from forests and plantations that are sustainable. The teak that we use comes from Javanese plantations that are controlled under the SVLK certification scheme which ensures the legitimacy of the teak we use. Without this certificate the teak cannot be exported whilst maintaining the sustainability of the plantations it comes from.
Being more planet concious
We are always very conscious of how we operate and run our business and make sure we are doing everything we can to do our bit towards looking after our fragile planet and environment we live in. Being as "eco" as possible is something that is very important to all of us to ensure the security of our planet for future generations and we constantly look at how we can change and improve what we do.
The timber that we use is always sourced from forests and plantations that are kept as sustainable. These areas are controlled and monitored to ensure this happens with certification schemes in place to ensure this. To help give a little back here at Ottena we have recently introduced a tree planting scheme to our business. Our existing customers are simply loving this and it works in planting a tree on your behalf for every order that is placed with us here at Ottena. I am sure you will agree a fantastic initiative to be part of.
When we dispatch your order we always ensure it is packaged to help protect it whilst in the hands of the couriers but still ensure the packaging we use is recyclable. We use cardboard and bubble wrap as it gives the best protection for your garden furniture, using bubble wrap does not sound very "eco" but we ensure the wrap we use is partly made from recycled material and is 100% recyclable once you have no need for it anymore.
