After an extremely stressful week in June 2023, when we received notification from our sole courier that they had gone into administration and would cease trading, we literally overnight went from dispatching orders of teak garden furniture and garden parasols according to our 24 hour dispatch promise, to a complete stop. Due to the bulky, awkward nature of some of our items of teak garden furniture, we have very limited options when securing a courier that could transport our items safely and efficiently.
After a lot of market research and phone calls, we are now fully functioning with two couriers, giving us, and our customers, a greater degree of versatility and security in the delivery of our teak garden furniture and wooden garden parasols. We are now sending the majority our larger, bulky outdoor teak furniture orders using Pallet Track. The ability to send items on a pallet service has been a great addition to our business, allowing us to ship your order to you safely and securely. So, what can you expect from your delivery of teak garden furniture on a pallet? Well hopefully, we can explain a little for you.
For our larger items such as a teak table and chair set, teak Adirondack set and assembled teak garden benches, your order will be packaged onto a pallet and dispatched via Pallet Track. Some of the main advantages of sending our larger orders on pallets is that it saves on excessive packaging and helps to reduce unforeseen breakages that may unfortunately occur during transit when the items are manually handled after they leave our warehouse.
Our pallet delivery service is a next day service which we will dispatch between Monday and Thursday. So, all being well barring any unseen issues, your teak garden furniture or outdoor parasol will arrive with you the next day. You will receive a tracking link from us once we ship your order so you can track your orders progress. The delivery is a kerbside service which means that the items will be delivered to the nearest kerbside at the address specified, the driver will position their vehicle as close as possible to the delivery address and unload the pallet where it is safe. Once you have unloaded the items from your pallet it will be your responsibility to safely and sensibly dispose of, or recycle, the pallet. This can be done at most recycling facilities, or why not save it for fire wood if you don’t have a use for it?
Pallet deliveries have been a great addition to our business here at Ottena, allowing us to now offer an assembly service on certain of our teak garden benches and teak outdoor chairs. This allows you to receive your outdoor teak bench already built, so all you will need to do is unpack it and place it in your desired location, then sit back and relax!
