Bicester Village Bench Supplier

In the summer of 2023 we were approached by Bicester Village in Oxfordshire to supply them with a range of teak benches that would be used in the shopping village for shoppers and customers to sit on and relax whilst between purchases. We were more than happy to oblige and an order was placed for 26 of our traditional Elizabeth teak garden benches.

This particular teak garden bench is a personal favourite if mine, if I'm completely honest. It has the timeless design of a garden bench that is absolutely recognisable the instant you see it. When you see this design you instantly think of a classic teak bench.

Our manufacturer constructs all of our teak outdoor furniture to the highest standards, from teak that has only been sourced from sustainable Javanese plantations. These plantations are strictly controlled to ensure they are sustainable and managed correctly. The Elizabeth garden bench is constructed from much thicker timber, compared to say our Catherine garden bench. making a super strong and sturdy bench that is perfectly suited to high traffic applications, such as the request put in by Bicester Village.

After sizes and quantities were organised, our warehouse team carefully packed and loaded the Elizabeth garden benches onto our van ready for delivery to our client. The client had decided that the teak benches would be painted once assembled so that they would stand out from the crowd once in place at Bicester Village.

We had arranged to deliver the benches to a secondary business who were going to paint and assemble the benches ready for their arrival at Bicester Village. If I am completely honest, painting a teak outdoor bench would not be my personal first choice as I am a fan of the natural teak finish. From the glorious golden tones through to the lovely silver/grey patina that teak will natural weather to once it has been exposed to the elements, teak has been the number one choice for gardens, parks and commercial spaces up and down the country.

As can be seen from some of the photos through this blog post, I am sure you will agree that the painted teak benches look absolutely amazing! They look and fit the theme of Bicester Village absolutely perfectly. Whatever you decide to do with your teak bench, whether it be leave to weather, paint, oil or stain it, please ensure you follow all manufacturer guidelines before applying any product. We cannot accept any responsibility for your furniture once any coating is applied but I am sure you can agree, the end product in this scenario was well worth the gamble!
